WWE Hall of Famer Brie Danielson (FKA Brie Bella) spoke to Renee Paquette regarding her husband Bryan Danielson’s upcoming career vs. championship match at AEW All In.
Brie has mixed feelings about Sunday’s pay per view. She confirmed that the couple’s children, Birdie, and Buddy, would be ringside to watch Danielson’s match with Swerve Strickland. Brie believes it would be wonderful for her children to see their dad become a champion but she also knows the physical toll that wrestling takes on him.
“We joke that we’re getting older and experiencing aches and pains, but I also think, Bryan, you shouldn’t feel this much pain at 43. That’s when I start to worry. I’ll say that compared to many people, my husband takes great care of his health. He does so much outside the ring to ensure he is in the best shape possible, he feels great, but at the time, I can see his body deteriorating.”
When he starts to feel these aches and sores, and it becomes difficult for him to play with the kids, you start to wonder if he should continue doing this. ‘”
“I don’t know which direction I’ll be cheering, because I’ve always wanted my spouse to be at home more, but I’ve also been with him for so long and all we’ve ever known is wrestling, and I don’t know if i want to see it end for him.”
Brie said that her husband felt fulfilled in the last three years of their career. She recalls how Danielson used to be frustrated because his ideas weren’t heard. But now that he is at AEW, this has changed.
“It has been amazing to watch him over the last three years.” I loved watching Bryan before, but I have felt the excitement and I can see it here. Brie continued, “I was with him at the time he was frustrated and felt he wasn’t heard. He’s been heard here and has done everything he wanted to do.”
“One thing I said to Bryan was that we all flew here because we don’t hope this is your final match. We all know that your journey is ending but it doesn’t need to end tonight. So, when you go out to fight, fight so hard. I think it would look pretty badass to your kids to watch you become a champ.”
