Brian Gewirtz says that the Rock is not responsible for the delay in the release of the WrestleMania: Behind the Curtain documentary.

Gewirtz, former WWE head writer and now executive for The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions and Dany Garcia, explained on The Ringer Masked Man Show that a mistake in promoting the film is the reason for the delay. He also denied speculation that The Rock “held hostage” the production.

WWE announced originally that the documentary would debut on the company’s YouTube Channel on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. The documentary is still not out.

Gewirtz says:

“There’s an awesome documentary that WWE… The Rock doesn’t hold hostage until every frame has his approval… Jesus.
But I think it was a mistake to promote it so early because it wasn’t yet ready. This was a mistake.
It’s now over an hour long. It’s awesome and will be released in some form very soon, according to my understanding.

In his interview with Masked Man Show, Gewirtz also talked about Seven Bucks’ Who killed WCW series, which will be on Vice TV starting June 4, Gewirtz. The episode can be viewed below.
