The opponent of WWE’s Julius Creed for his Bloodsport debut has been revealed.
Josh Barnett, the man who named the event series, announced on Thursday that Matt Makowski, a former Bellator MMA wrestler and pro-wrestler, will face Creed in Brooklyn on Sunday, the 28th of July.
In June, WWE announced that Brutus and Julius (Jacob Kasper), his brother (Drew Kasper), would be appearing on the show. This was part of the latest talent exchange/loan initiative by WWE which began earlier this year. Both have extensive amateur wrestler backgrounds. Julius signed with WWE in October 2020, and Brutus in February 2021.
In a very short time, they both won the NXT Tag Team Titles and were officially called up to the main roster in November. They are now aligned to Chad Gable’s feud with the Wyatt Sicks.
This will be Makowski’s fifth Bloodsport. He is 2-2 and has a recent loss to NXT’s Charlie Dempsey in April’s Bloodsport X.
The Creeds will be joining a large WWE contingent, which also includes Shayna Bazler and Dempsey.
Here’s the current card:
- Mike Santana vs. Homicide
- Julius Creed vs. Matt Makowski
- Shayna Baszler vs. Miyu Yamashita
- Mike Bailey vs. Akira
- Masha Slamovich vs. Jody Threat
- Timothy Thatcher vs. Josh Woods
- Brutus Creed vs. TBA
- Charlie Dempsey vs. TBA
