Bloodline Rules added to WWE title match during SummerSlam in todays Wrestling news

SummerSlam will be ruled by Bloodline Rules.

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes met challenger Solo Sikoa in the ring at the opening of Friday’s SmackDown. Sikoa challenged Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to a Bloodline Rules match when they came through the crowd. Rhodes admitted that it wasn’t the best idea, but accepted the new rules for Saturday’s match.

Bloodline Rules first appeared as part of WrestleMania’s storyline. The Rock & Roman Reigns took on Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins, with the stipulation being that if Rhodes & Rollins lose, Bloodline Rules will be in place the next day when Reigns defends the WWE title against Rhodes. The Rock won for his team and set up the stipulation for the following day.

Rhodes was able to pin Reigns despite the interference of The Bloodline including Rock. John Cena’s appearance, Seth Rollins’ and The Undertaker’s appearances allowed Rhodes.

Here is the updated card for SummerSlam:
