The 44-year old has been out of the game since February due to a lower-back injury. He announced on Instagram that he had recently undergone successful back fusion.

The Blade expressed his hope that he would be able “in a few months” to return to the ring during a virtual signing in late-June.
“My back is bad, but it’s slowly and surely getting better. I hope to be back within a few months,” he said.
His partner, The Bunny hasn’t wrestled for over a year, and was removed from AEW’s roster page in November. She stated during the same virtual sign-up that she is currently on a wrestling hiatus.
“I’m enjoying figure skating at the moment. Bunny said, “I’m acting right now and I’m taking some time off from breaking my body every week.” “I think I deserve a break after 19 years. Never say never, but right now I’m really enjoying both my figure skating and my acting. It’s a lot of fun.”
“I’m working on a very exciting project, but I can’t say anything about it just yet. It’s horror related,” she added.
