Billy Jack Haynes was transported to jail for the murder of his wife.
KOIN 6 reported on Wednesday that Haynes, after being released from hospital, was booked into Multnomah county Detention Center, Portland, Oregon, on charges of murder in the second-degree and unlawful use of a firearm. Haynes was in police custody during his hospitalization, but he wasn’t officially charged until he was released.
On February 8, Portland police were called to the Lents neighborhood. They spent hours talking with Haynes in a home. Police believed Haynes was armed and warned those in the neighborhood to take cover. Haynes was arrested two hours later. Haynes’s wife Jannette was found dead inside by the police. Her death was ruled a homicide caused by a shotgun.
Haynes was a mainstay of the Portland wrestling territory throughout his career. He briefly wrestled in WWE between 1986 and 1988. His feud with Hercules Hernandez led to a match on WrestleMania 3 He also wrestled briefly in WCW as Black Blood.
