Billie Starkz wins first Women’s TV title in ROH Supercard of Honor in todays Wrestling news
Starkz feigned a neck injury in order to surprise Queen Aminata with the victory.
Billie Starkz, in a less-than-honorable manner, won the inaugural Ring of Honor Women’s TV Title at Friday’s Supercard of Honor.
Starkz won her first ROH title by defeating Queen Aminata, in the finals a 16-woman tourney.
Starkz’s swanton attempt from the top was missed, and he landed hard on Aminata’s knees. Starkz pointed to her neck, which led to ROH medical staff and the referee attending to her.
Aminata was watching in concern as she watched her in pain, and a neck brace was put on. The production even cut twice to the announcers desk to emphasize the seriousness of the situation.
Aminata held the ropes wide to help Starkz as he was about to be taken down. Starkz then broke off, hit a stomach-to-back supplex, and locked a sleeping position on Aminata, who eventually passed out. This gave Starkz the win and title.
The entire sequence lasted three minutes.
The new champion defeated Robynrenegade in round one, Diamante round two, and former ROH Women’s Champions Mercedes Martinez round three. Starkz now has eight consecutive wins in ROH.
Aminata reached the finals after beating J-Rod and Taya Valkyrie. This is her first loss in ROH.
