Belair believes they could have done so much more magic together.
Bianca Belair is hoping that the story can be picked up again someday, even though Mercedes Mone has moved on to AEW.
Belair and Mone, the former Sasha Banks, faced off in WrestleMania 38 in 2021. They became the first Black woman to headline WrestleMania. The two have also worked as a WWE tag team.
Belair was asked in an interview with Gorilla position if she wanted Mone back to WWE and if they had discussed it together. Belair denied that they had ever discussed it. Belair believes that they could have made their relationship even more magical. She wants Mone do what is best for her.
Belair said:
I haven’t talked to her about this. I don’t even know what she wants. I want to know what’s right for her and what she would like to do. I’m not the one to tell anyone what they should be doing.
What I can say is that at WrestleMania37, we created some magic. I believe that there was still so much magic to be created. I saw that there was so much more magic to be made, not just with us in the ring but also with the tag team champions and me as champion at the time. The fact that everything was halted then, I would love to see it pick up again and take off one day. So I think we haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg in terms of what can be done.
Mone, who left WWE in 2022 to wrestle for NJPW and Stardom, returned to pro-wrestling last year. Mone has not wrestled since May 2023, when he suffered an ankle injury.
Mone is expected make her AEW debut in the Big Business edition Dynamite Boston on Wednesday, March 13.
Belair competed recently in the women’s Elimination Chamber Match at WWE’s Elimination Chamber Event in Australia. Becky Lynch won, earning a Women’s World Championship match against Rhea Ripley for WrestleMania forty.
