It is not known how long the former WWE World Heavyweight champion will be out.
According to his wife Seth Rollins, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champ underwent knee surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn lateral meniscus.
Becky Lynch, who appeared on RTE One in Ireland, revealed the news during a Friday media appearance. She joked that running after their child would help his rehab efforts.
Rollins announced in January that he had been diagnosed with a grade 2 tear in his MCL, and a torn left meniscus. He said he would not miss WrestleMania 40. He competed two times over that weekend. He teamed with Cody Rhodes to face The Rock & Roman reigns on the opening night, and then lost his World Heavyweight Title to Drew McIntyre in the second night.
Rollins confirmed the injury to the media in January and said that surgery would keep him out of play for three to four months. It is not known if this timeline is still accurate.
After disclosing his injury, the 37 year old took almost two months off from in-ring competition. He returned in mid-March to compete in a four match house show with Rhodes, against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. He then had one more TV match just before WrestleMania, a Bloodline rules out no contest against Sikoa in the April 1st Raw.
