Bayley will face Dakota Kai next week on WWE SmackDown in todays Wrestling news
Rey Mysterio will also be appearing, as announced.
Bayley will face Dakota Kai in singles match on the road to WrestleMania.
WWE announced that Bayley and Kai will face off on SmackDown this Friday, March 15. The match will take place two weeks after Kai turned on Bayley by siding with Damage CTRL.
Kai pretended to be helping Bayley in the feud she had with Damage CTRL. They were tag-team partners against Asuka and Kaira Sane on SmackDown. Kai dropped from the apron as Bayley was about to make a tagging. She then slapped Bayley, before IYO SKY laid Bayley down.
Bayley will face SKY at WrestleMania for the WWE Women’s Championship. After winning the women’s Royal Rumble Bayley announced that she would challenge SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Tonight, SmackDown aired a sit-down interview between Bayley and the host. Bayley promised that she would do everything in her power to break Damage CTRL.
Damage CTRL replied to Bayley later in the evening. Kai claimed she was the brains behind Damage CTRL and not Bayley. Kai challenged Bayley on SmackDown to face her next week.
Kai will be playing her first singles match since nearly a full year. She was out of the game for 10 months because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
WWE has also confirmed that Rey Mysterio is set to appear on SmackDown next week. Mysterio made his first return to WWE programming last Friday after undergoing surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus in November.
Mysterio and LWO are in a feud with Santos Escobar, Legado del Fantasma and Legado del Fantasma. Dragon Lee defeated Angel tonight on SmackDown, but Legado del Fantasma slapped Lee after the match. Commentary said that the LWO were not in the building, and therefore couldn’t assist Lee.
Next week, SmackDown will be held at FedExForum Memphis, Tennessee.
