Batista's return to WWE won't ruin a'storybook end' in todays Wrestling news

Batista says he will not tarnish his “storybook ending”.

He officially retired after losing to Triple H at WrestleMania. He announced his retirement the next day by writing “Thank you for letting be entertain you.” I love this industry and I’m grateful to have been a part of your lives, whether you cheered or jeered. “I am officially retiring from sports entertainment, and I am grateful for each second of my incredible journey.”

The 55-year old actor is currently promoting “The Killer’s Game,” a film that will be released in theaters on Saturday, September 13. Chris Van Vliet interviewed him along with Sofia Boutella, who starred in Star Trek Beyond and Rebel Moon. The conversation shifted from movies to wrestlers.

Boutella asked Batista the same questions CVV asked about his wrestling career, including if he was aware that WrestleMania 35 was his last match.

“I did. I just didn’t tell anyone else because I didn’t want it to become a big deal. I didn’t really want to do the tour or give a speech. I just wanted to have a match and call it a career.

Boutella was surprised to hear that Batista had lost his last match.

Did you know that you were going lose? She asked. She asked.

“I did, yes,” Batista replied. “It’s the way I wanted it to end. It was like a fantasy for me. It’s perfect. It’s a romantic way to go out and wrestlers can’t choose how they go out. I got to. I went out the way I wanted, with the guy I wanted. I will never change that.

“It’s just that I miss it,” he continued. “I miss the audience, I miss the energy.” I dream of walking out and hearing the music from my entrance, but I know that if I did that I would ruin my storybook ending. I’m not willing to do it.

“I have to accept that my time is over,” he said.

CVV asked whether the plan was still to have him inducted into WWE Hall of Fame.

“Eventually, I’ll. I wanted to, and there was an opportunity for me to do so a couple years ago. I accepted. Hunter asked me to do it.”

“It was in LA, and I thought it would be a storybook because I had won my first title in LA. We just couldn’t figure out how to do it. I was in South Africa working on a movie, so logistically we couldn’t make it work. But I’m still interested and would like to do it one day.
