Athena will defend ROH Women’s title at AEW’s Battle of the Belts X in todays Wrestling news
Athena will defend against Red Velvet.
Athena, the Ring of Honor Women’s Champion, will be looking to extend her long winning streak and title defence streak at Saturday’s AEW battle of the belts X.
Athena will face Red Velvet, who is still searching for her first AEW title or ROH title. She is 5-1 during her brief ROH career and is coming off of a loss to Queen Aminata at the recent Women’s TV Title Tournament in March.
This will be the first time they have ever shared a ring.
Athena defended her title last Friday at the ROH Supercard Of Honor against former AEW women’s champion Hikaru Shida. This was her 20th title defence dating back to December 20,22. She has won 19 of her last 20 singles matches, both in ROH and ROH.
This will be her debut on AEW TV after a loss to Willow Nightingale at the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament in July 2023. Her last AEW appearance was at the WrestleDream Pre-Show in October, where she competed in an eight-person Tag Team match.
