After a brief injury scare, ROH’s Women’s World Champion Athena is expected to be back in action shortly.

Athena looked to be injured while facing Viva Van during a match recorded for ROH TV on May 16. According to reports from the live broadcast, Athena appeared to have injured her lower leg. She needed help getting out because she couldn’t weight it.

Tony Khan provided an update on Athena’s condition during Sunday’s post-AEW double or nothing media scrum. He said Athena was a little bruised right now, but will be 100 percent “very shortly.”

“Athena is probably the best female wrestler in the entire world. She is the Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion. Khan said that Athena is currently a little beaten up. “But she will be 100 percent very shortly as we bring ROH and AEW back to Texas — her state and Dallas, her hometown.

AEW and Arlington, Texas have partnered together to create a residency in the Esports Arena at Arlington this summer. Six events will be held at the venue from July 20 to August 27. This includes ROH’s Death Before Dishonor and five episodes AEW Collision.

Death Before Dishonor will take place on Friday, 27th July.

Athena’s reign has now lasted 500 days as ROH Women’s World Champion. She has been the champion since December 2022.
