Cedric Alexander is officially joining the WWE NXT roster and his tag-team partner may be following him.
Alexander was introduced to the NXT team in a backstage segment of Tuesday’s WWE NXT. The segment is part of a storyline that sees Stevie Turner and Robert Stone competing for the favor of NXT GM Ava.
Turner set up Ava’s meeting with Alexander in the storyline and revealed that Alexander had been officially added to the brand. Stone introduced Adonis, and then inserted Adonis along with him into Ava’s conversation with Alexander.
Alexander and Adonis were both part of the SmackDown roster and began teaming up in dark matches during SmackDown tapes last December.
In February, WWE posted vignettes that portrayed the pair as a tagging team. The two never wrestled together on TV after the vignettes. Instead, they worked dark matches. Alexander was used sporadically on the SmackDown as an enhancement talent this year and as part the WWE Speed Show on X.
Adonis’s final televised match was the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, which took place on SmackDown.
