Anna Jay is returning to AEW following her first tour with Stardom.
Jay, 26, completed her first Japan Tour on Saturday by defeating Momo Kohgo. Jay reflected in her post-match remarks on the rewarding experience of competing for Stardom. Jay is feeling better than she has ever felt, and believes that the best is still to come.
“Well, this is my last match on my first Stardom Tour. I feel many things. I feel good. I feel tired, obviously. I’m a little sad too, you know? It’s time to leave this experience. While it was the most challenging of my wrestling career, I also found it the most fulfilling and rewarding. “The girls here are incredible and I can’t even believe that I was able to work with them,” Jay stated.
“And let’s say this: I may not be at their level — yet — but I have hung with the best. That was my goal: to improve. To do my best while I am here. The best is yet ahead. I’ll be back soon. Everyone is on notice, because I’m feeling the best I’ve felt in a long time and I’m going to use it.”
Jay made her Stardom debut earlier this month, as an entry in the 5 Star Grand Prix. She finished with a 3-3 score in her tournament matches.
Kohgo expressed her honor at being Jay’s final opponent on the tour, and she would like to work with her again in the future.
In the main event of the 2024 5 Star Grand Prix, Maika defeated Saya Kamitani at the tournament finals.
