Despite the fact that her name is on a bracelet at a key point in her husband’s feud, AJ Mendez appears to know little about the storyline.
The former Divas Champion has been busy promoting Day of the Dead Girl. A Kickstarter campaign was recently announced. AJ was interviewed by Comicbook.com and asked about Punk’s current storyline. She admitted that she had no idea what was going on.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t know what is going on.” I’m weird — I don’t want to watch live my husband wrestle because I’m scared. Mendez said, “It’s like some weird juju.” “But it’s also like when you come home from work. Do you open your email? It’s like that. It’s like that, if people understand. “I’m on the periphery and I get a lot of women’s stuff because that’s my interest.”
“My husband will tell me who the cool chick is at the moment.” I’m obsessed with people. Like Bayley and Naomi, perhaps? These are my girls. That’s what I find interesting. I’m not sure what is happening in the storyline. I know my dog has become famous! He’s going to get some surprise merchandise. I know about it. It’s cool. I’m glad he’s healthy, happy and doing well. I’m proud.”
After briefly being removed from WWE.com, replicas of the fan bracelet that was at the heart of the storyline can now be purchased. However, they now have CM Punk’s name on them instead of Larry and April. The fan who created the original bracelet for Punk hopes she’ll receive one.
Day of the Dead Girl is released on October 9. The miniseries is described as follows:

They also need help preventing their town’s Day of the Dead celebration from turning into a bloodbath. As if sharing the bathroom with her mother wasn’t difficult enough.”
