In a surprising development reported on Wednesday, AEW has expressed interest in running a stadium-style event in Australia by 2025.
According to The Sporting News in Australia, plans for the company’s arrival in the country have “well advanced.” “AEW powerbrokers” have been scouting venues on Australia’s eastcoast.
The report states that there could be three venues in play – Sydney’s Allianz Stadium; Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium; and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium – with live entertainment company TEG supporting the show.

This news comes as AEW is preparing to host its second international stadium show in London’s Wembley Stadium, with All In, a week from Sunday. The news comes amid rumors that they are considering running a stadium in Arlington, Texas where the Texas Rangers play.
WWE has run Australia in the past, including the Elimination Chamber held this past February in a Perth stadium, which drew a reported 52,590. This was preceded by Super ShowDown in Melbourne Cricket Ground, October 2018, which drew a reported 70,309.
