AEW Rampage to feature Rocky Romero vs. Samoa Joe in todays Wrestling news
Samoa Joe, the former AEW World champion, will be returning to the early edition of AEW Rampage on Friday.
Joe will be playing his second match since losing his title to Swerve at April’s Dynasty. He has not been officially announced for Sunday’s Double or Nothing Pay-per-View, but he has been involved in an ongoing storyline motivating Hook backstage. Hook and Katsuyori will face FTW champion Chris Jericho on Sunday in a three way title match.
The PAC vs. Romero bout is their first singles match since 2012, when they faced off in the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Tournament. They also faced off in a tag team match for PWG in 2007.
In other action, Rush is looking to go 3-0 in his matchup with Isiah Kaassidy. TBS Champion Willow Nightingale and former champion Kris Statlander will be teaming up against Anna Jay as well as Alex Windsor, who will make her promotional debut.
Due to NBA playoff coverage by TNT, the Friday show will air at 6 pm Eastern/3 pm Pacific.
