Two new trademark filings by AEW could hint at a new name for the promotion.
On November 5, AEW filed a trademark application for the terms “Parade of Champions”, and “AEW Parade of Champions”. The trademark information states that these terms are for goods and/or services related to a wrestling program.
Entertainment services include a multi-platform multimedia program that features wrestling.
Parade of Champions is a popular wrestling show name that has been used throughout history. World Class Championship Wrestling, for example, uses it to commemorate Von Erich. In the main match of the first Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions in Texas Stadium, Kerry Von Erich beat Ric Flair and won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
There are no details about these trademarks, or how they will use them.
