Jay won the eight person tag match for her squad on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
Battle of the Belts IX now includes a TBS Championship match.
After Dynamite, where Jay defeated Skye Blue’s associate Julia Hart with the Queen Slayer during an eight-person team match, the champion will defend her title against Anna Jay. The championship match was announced later in the show.
The eight-person tag match was held to honor Brodie, who made his debut in 2020 as The Exalted one of the Dark Order. During his brief time in AEW Lee saw Preston Vance and Jay as his protoges. Vance won an eight-man team match in the show. This was a win for his team.
Jay has remained in touch with Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia and Matt Menard over the past few weeks. They are the remnants of Jericho Appreciation society. She appeared on AEW’s Rampage last month, where she lost to Hikaru Schida.
Hart defeated Abadon to defend the TBS Championship in Worlds End.
