WWE star CMPunk has booked a part in “Let’s Start a Cult”, a new comedy that will be released in October.
In a new poster for the film released on Thursday, Punk is billed by Phil Brooks. Let’s Start a Cult, produced by Dark Sky Films, will star comedian Stavros Halikians who also co-wrote this movie.
The film will be released in theaters on Friday 25th October.
Ben Kitnick, the director of Let’s Start a Cult, described the film in a MovieWeb piece:
“It’s a wild, absurd, heart-warming comedy that balances high-concept concepts with a broad, comedic approach. It is as modern as it can be, and as throwback as it can be. The film’s central character is a searcher, who seeks to ease life’s worries by adopting a new belief system with other like-minded people. In retrospect, this is a perfect symbol of our experience in making the film. It was a collaborative process with the cast and crew taking a delightfully unserious story very seriously. I hope you enjoy watching this, dare i say, “cult comedy” as much as we did. ‘”
Punk is among several WWE stars who have signed with Paradigm Talent Agency in recent months. They also represent Damian Priest, Tiffany Stratton and others.
