Randy Orton wants WWE Bash to be the main event in Berlin and expects an 'insane atmosphere' in todays Wrestling news

Randy Orton wants the main event at WWE Bash Berlin to be held in Berlin.

Orton will challenge Gunther to the World Heavyweight Championship in WWE’s first ever PLE from Germany. In an interview with Daily Mail to promote the event, he praised Gunther for being a special talent as well as an amazing heel. Orton thinks their match should be the last at Bash Berlin.

“I always feel like I have something left to prove. I haven’t played a main event PLE in almost four years. I didn’t know it had been so long. There have been many PLEs, but none of this caliber. The crowd will be hot, and this is going be a big show. I would love to have us as the main event of this show,” Orton said.

“But I know Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, that’s also a big, huge match, but you’ve had a couple of good guys in there beating each other to sh*t. I think Gunther and myself should close the evening. It’s going down in history whether I win or not. This match will be talked about for a very long time. I know this because Gunther has such an incredible talent.”

Orton’s final one-on-one PLE Main Event was against “The Fiend”, Bray Wyatt, at TLC 2020. He has had other main matches since then, but not singles matches.

Uber Arena will host Bash in Berlin, on Saturday August 31. Gunther, though originally from Austrian, spent a significant amount of his early professional career in Germany. Orton believes that the crowd is split, but Gunther will win.

“But what I think will be really interesting about the match [in] Berlin, is that the crowd is likely to be a bit on his side.” Orton said, “I think there will be some Randy Orton supporters in the crowd. But I think they might be split.” “You know, it’s a big Austrian guy. Austria is right next door to Germany, and the German fans will love Gunther. I’m bringing my wife because I don’t want her missing the atmosphere at the show on the 31st. It’s going be insane.”

Gunther and Orton previously met in the WWE King of the Ring Finals in May. Gunther won the match, but Orton’s shoulder was up during the pin.

A brawl broke out between Orton and Gunther last night, after Orton beat Ludwig Kaiser in the main match. After the show ended, Orton gave Gunther an RKO and briefly posed in front of the World Heavyweight Championship Belt.
