Bobby Lashley and Paul “Triple H’ Levesque haven’t had much of a relationship during Levesque’s time as WWE creative director.
Lashley, who is believed to be leaving WWE, was asked if he preferred Vince McMahon over Levesque. Lashley said McMahon viewed him as a superstar and that they had a great connection. Lashley and Levesque have not developed a similar relationship.
Lashley replied, “If I say something wrong right now [laughs],” Lashley. “I felt a connection to Vince. Vince understood me. Vince liked the show. He was looking for stars and he saw me as one. Vince told me many different things throughout my career. Vince looked at me and said, “I can tell Bobby is a hard worker.” I can send him to any part of the country to represent my company and brand. He looked at me as if I was a star. So, I like Vince. Hunter is not someone I’ve had a lot of contact with. Hunter has his men. “I’ve tried, but we haven’t worked together enough to get to know one another.”
Lashley held the WWE Championship two times while McMahon ran the company. McMahon quit WWE and TKO Group in January after Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him.
Lashley is expected to leave WWE as his contract expires soon. He has been out of the ring since May. Lashley told The Laboratory he had surgery following a “freak injury” that occurred during a match in France. Lashley, who was supposed to be out of action for six months but is already ahead of schedule, believes he will be cleared to play in less than a week.
Lashley said, “And then we’ll see what happens.”
