Next week’s Raw will feature a SummerSlam rematch.
Sami Zayn, who lost to Bron Breakker in a match on Saturday, was depressed backstage during this week’s episode. Jey Uso tried to cheer him up by saying that he knew his title would be returned in a rematch. Zayn revealed that he had already spoken to Adam Pearce about the rematch and had gotten it for next week. The graphic for Raw’s next episode announced that it would be a match of two-out-of three falls.
Breakker defeated Zayn to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time at SummerSlam, ending Zayn’s reign that began at WrestleMania forty.
Next week, Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Kairi SANE) will face Zoey Stark & Shayna Basszler in a battle that will determine who the next contenders are for the WWE Women’s Tag Team title. Damage CTRL attacked Sonya Deville and her teammates Stark and Baszler during Monday’s show. Dakota Kai was injured in the knee by the latter trio after they attacked her backstage. When Deville was due to face Kai, SKY replaced her, and Damage CTRL won.
