Next Wednesday, AEW Dynamite will be held in Winston-Salem (North Carolina). One match will feature the former AEW World Champion, and another will feature a first-time-ever battle between two legends.
AEW American/International Champion MJF will face Kyle Fletcher in a non-title match following the latter coming out to aid former partner Will Ospreay from an MJF post-match attack.
MJF had just beaten Lance Archer, when he followed up a show-opening promotional clip by beating Ospreay. Fletcher then stopped a Dynamite diamond ring before cutting a promotional promo on MJF and challenging him to a fight right there. MJF pretended he’d do it, but then said he’d do it next week.
Ospreay, Fletcher and the Don Callis Family were all part of the United Empire faction within the NJPW before Ospreay & Callis split up this year.
MJF and Fletcher faced off at All In last year when MJF & Adam Cole beat Fletcher & Mark Davis to win the ROH Tag team titles.
Bryan Danielson will face Jeff Jarrett in a match for the first ever.
The match was made following Wednesday’s in ring promo between Danielson and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, where Danielson offered to give up his career if he could not beat Strickland during All In. Jarrett rooted for Danielson as he walked backstage, following up on the pump-up speech he gave last week.
Danielson was not in the mood, so he issued the challenge for the next Wednesday.
Next week, Katsuyori shibata will face Bryan Keith in a match that continues the feud between both groups.
Shibata returned to The Learning Tree last week in order to disrupt their plans. Chris Jericho claimed in a promo for his 102-day reign as FTW champion that Keith would take care Shibata since his finger had been broken in his fight with Minoru Suzuki last week.
