Bryan Danielson has raised the stakes in his challenge to AEW World Champions Swerve Strickland, at next month’s All In at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Strickland pointed out Danielson’s physical shortcomings and that the title was not a career achievement award during a heated promo between them on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite.
Danielson decided to give up his career in the ring if he failed to defeat Strickland and win the title they had exchanged hands over. Strickland said Danielson didn’t have to keep his promise, but rather to his family.
In promos, the 43-year old has said that he is in his final year as an active competitor. He has never stated that he will retire from ring action in 2019. During his promo he said that his current AEW deal ends on Thursday and he has promised his family he won’t sign another full-time job again.
Danielson has not won AEW gold during his multi-year tenure, despite challenging for the belt several times. He won the Owen Hart Foundation men’s tournament this year.
Strickland is aiming to defend his title for the fifth time.
This is a rematch of a Dynamite bout Danielson won in October 2023.
