As part of Ohio’s Motion Picture Tax Credit Program AEW will receive a large check from the Ohio Government for unnamed events that will be held in 2024 or 2025.
In a press release issued on Monday, the company was recognized for its contribution to the creation of jobs in the state and nearly $300,000,000 in revenue from production costs and expenditures.
AEW will receive $1.275 million in total from Ohio, as part of a $36.7 million allocation. The company is listed as “AEW Productions 2024-2025, Cleveland/TBD”, which indicates that an announcement will be made for a special event or events in the future. This year’s pay-per view slate has already been announced.
AEW has a date in Ohio for this year, as Collision will be playing Dayton on the 12th of September. It is unknown if this is the TBD.
Ohio tax credit money for wrestling promotions is nothing new. WWE received almost $1.7 million in February, according to a release. The only designation is “2024”, which could be linked to this weekend’s SummerSlam in Browns Stadium in Cleveland.
