Meiko Satomura will retire next year.

Satomura announced in a press conference in Japan on Saturday that her last match will be in April 2025. This date coincides with the 30th anniversary of her birth. Tokyo Sports reported Friday that Satomura is considering retiring.

Satomura began wrestling in 1995 and wrestled for GAEA from 1995 until 2005, when the promotion ended. She founded Sendai Girls the following year. During her time in GAEA she made several WCW appearances.

She signed with WWE in 2020 as part of NXT UK where she became the last NXT UK women’s champion. After the brand folded, she appeared in the United States several times, losing a three-way unification match to Mandy Rose in 2022. She also lost to Roxanne Perez in a three-way match for the NXT Women’s Championship, at NXT Roadblock.

Satomura will be appearing this weekend as part of WWE’s house show tour in Japan. She will compete against Bayley on Saturday for the WWE Women’s Championship.
