Vince McMahon files a motion to lift the court-ordered suspension in Janel Grant's lawsuit in todays Wrestling news

The legal team for Vince McMahon has filed a motion to lift the court order that had ordered a stay on the Janel Grant case.

Judge Jeffrey Meyer halted the suit against McMahon, WWE and John Laurinaitis in mid-June after both sides agreed on it based on a Department of Justice request. The suit would not be resumed until December 11, 2024.

McMahon’s team has now adopted a new tactic.

Jessica Taub Rosenberg, McMahon’s lawyer, made the following statement to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics on Thursday:

“Today’s Motion is in response to the flagrant violation by Ms. Grant of the federal Stay Order. Ms. Grant, after telling the Federal Court she would pause the lawsuit, immediately violated the Stay Order by seeking one-sided disclosure for her own benefit. Her lawyer told media that the information requested in the new Connecticut action was ‘to help us in our federal claims.’

The state action is assumed to be Grant’s lawyers submitting a preaction discovery petition against Peak Wellness and its CEO/owner Carlon Colker, seeking medical records relating to Grant’s treatment in the clinic. This relates to the sex-trafficking lawsuit against WWE and McMahon.
