Darby Allin prepares for his first ever cage match at AEW Dynamite.
Allin will be a member of Team AEW tonight at Blood & Guts in Nashville. He spoke to Sports Illustrated about the match.
Allin said, “I have a lot planned.” “I’ve not even participated in a cage fight before. Never. It’s a challenge. You know I love a good challenge.”
“This is very important to me.” I want to be a face for this company. I want to be a spokesperson for this company. Look at what AEW allowed me to achieve in the ring and the freedom that I enjoy outside the ring. It’s because of this that I have been able be authentic and true to myself.”
Allin is preparing to face Jack Perry at Wembley Stadium in the summer. Allin challenged Perry to the TNT title match in All In at Collision, which took place on Saturday. Allin said that Perry was “rewarded for bad behavior” but that he does not care about him.
“It is pretty cool to see Jack doing now,” said he. “Everyone says that a pro wrestler’s best is when they are themselves turned up to 10. In real life, this guy is a fool. He’s entitled. He’s finally able to be himself. I feel like he was rewarded for his bad behavior. I don’t like him.”
Allin has just won a match against The Beast Mortos in AEW Collision. He has a 7-3 AEW score for the year.
