In a recent interview, Tony Khan named his three “quintessential AEW matches”.
Khan was asked by TJ Jefferson to name three matches that he would recommend a new AEW fan.
Khan said:
“I think there are many great matches in this company, but I would pick three that are must-watches.
I think that the Bryan Danielson vs. MJF Iron Man at Revolution 2023 would be one of the very best matches. I also think the Young Bucks vs. Kenny Omega and Hangman Page at Revolution 2020 will be among the very, very top.
There are so many great Lights Out matches, and bloody brawls… I think that Dr. Britt Bakker vs. Thunder Rosa from the St. Patrick’s Day Slam is a fantastic match.
It’s hard to choose just three.
Khan then went on to honor two more bouts.
“I think Sting’s retirement match would be my greatest moment and greatest show that we’ve ever had here, so that would be near the top.”
“I think MJF and Will Ospreay had the best television fight I’ve ever witnessed last week.”
Khan also discussed Blood & Guts and All In, All Out as well as the history of AEW, its founding, and more in this 30-plus-minute interview.
