Rikishi is unhappy with the way WWE has handled Jey Uso.
Rikishi, in a recent podcast, expressed confusion as to why WWE had not booked his son for a championship win despite his popularity.
Rikishi asked the question on the show. “Why don’t you give the most popular babyface? In my eyes, be it my son, or if the Yeet Master or the Yeet Man is over, what’s the problem with not giving this guy a title, you know?” “It wouldn’t be good for business.”
Rikishi addressed Uso’s booking, and his concerns about his son’s storyline leading up to SummerSlam.
“I get hot when i talk about this because this kid, whether it is my son or someone else, worked hard.”
What else can they do now that they have won the tag team division? He breaks up with Yeet. He does his thing and then they don’t give him the gas pedal.”
Later he would add “SummerSlam where is Yeet?” I don’t think so, let’s just write him in as if he liked Mami. Is that the best they could do? Let’s make this guy fall in love with Mami. What are you all trying to do? Break up his marriage? What are you going do now, since you can’t make him a good character? God forbid that you guys tell him or her to tongue kiss on Raw. That better not happen.”
Rikishi’s criticism of his son’s booking is not new. In May, he expressed concern in his podcast when Uso lost the King of the Ring semifinals to Gunther. He said earlier this month that “it struck a nerve” when WWE did not book Jey Uso for the men’s Money in the Bank match in Toronto.
