Kota Ibushi is back at DDT.
Ibushi, who has been absent for seven years, made a surprise debut at DDT Peter Pan at the Ryogoku sumo hall in Tokyo today. He appeared in the Weapons Rumble between Danshoku dino and DDT founder Sanshiro Takagi, for the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship. Ibushi was Dino’s “weapon” in the match.
Michael Nakazawa, Maki Itoh and others wrestlers acted as Dino’s weapons.
Ibushi gave Takagi the Kamigoye, and Dino retained his title.
Takagi then stated that he wanted a singles match against Ibushi.
Takagi told Ibushi, “If my wish is granted and all the timings are right, please fight me as a singles player.”
Ibushi expressed his desire to Takagi in an emotional exchange. He wants to return to a DDT-ring.
Takagi confirmed that he was not retiring after the show. He also said he would like to bring Kenny Omega back to DDT.
Ibushi celebrated his 20th year in wrestling by playing a five-minute match against Daisuke Sekomoto at the Tokyo Dome City Hall last month for GLEAT. He hasn’t wrestled in a full match since he fought Naomichi Marufuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH back in January. Ibushi’s performance was affected by his injuries, and he later apologized for it.
