Naomichi Marufuji will be at SummerSlam.
Pro Wrestling NOAH revealed on Saturday that Marufuji would be a guest commentary on the WWE SummerSlam streamed on ABEMA Japan. The show will take place on August 6 at Cleveland Browns Stadium, Ohio.
NOAH clarified later that he will be part of the ABEMA Pay-per-View broadcast after initially posting he was at the show.
Marufuji and WWE’s AJ Styles met at NOAH Destination in the last weekend. Styles won the dream match after a Styles Clash.
In recent weeks, NOAH and WWE have started exchanging talent. Along with Styles’ appearance last weekend, NXT’s Tavion Height and Josh Briggs are competing in the N1 Victory Tournament that begins next month. WWE has sent Hideo Nakamura (KENTA), Shinsuke Nakamura, and Hideo Itami in the past for one-time events.
WWE and GCW have also been exchanging talent. GCW has sent a Bloodsport event for next weekend that will feature WWE talent. NXT wrestlers will also be appearing at Saturday’s TNA Slammiversary, with the No Quarter Catch Crew taking on The Rascalz. The Rascalz made their debut on Tuesday’s NXT.
