A global IT outage on Friday has also affected the world of professional wrestlers.
The massive IT outage was due to a faulty update from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. The outage disrupted Friday’s air travel, and airlines are now working to restore schedules. Max Caster, an AEW wrestler, was supposed to be at Defy Wrestling’s For the Glory event in Seattle tonight. However, he posted a video to social media announcing he couldn’t make it. Caster’s partner in the tag team Anthony Bowens is still at the show.
“Big disaster today at the airport. We worked all morning and all afternoon to get me a flight from New York back to Seattle so I could come wrestle and meet the fans. Caster said, “We were just unable to do it.” “All of the airlines today were not operating properly. It’s not their fault or Defy’s fault. “I wish I could have been there.”
Caster apologized and promised to return to Defy to make amends.
The Acclaimed (Caster & Bowens), were scheduled to take on Midnight Heat (Eddie Pearl & Ricky Gibson), at the show.
Brett Lauderdale, the promoter of Game Changer Wrestling, posted that it was also a bad day for GCW. The planned card for GCW’s So High event tonight in St. Louis will need to be changed.
WWE wrestler Chelsea Green said that she spent eight-hours at the Atlanta airport on Monday, but was able to board a flight for tonight’s SmackDown show in Omaha, Nebraska.
