It appears that AEW Collision will not be airing in direct competition with WWE SummerSlam.
TNT’s schedule shows that the Saturday, Aug. 3 episode of Collision airs from 5-7 pm Eastern time. This means that it will not be against the SummerSlam primary card. Collision will air instead opposite the two-hour SummerSlam Pre-show. Pre-shows usually don’t feature any matches for WWE main roster PLEs.
The Collision episode will be taped on August 1, before airing August 3. This is part of AEW’s upcoming residency in Arlington, Texas at Esports Stadium. The residency includes five Collisions, one Ring of Honor pay per view, and two days of ROH TV tapings.
According to the TNT schedule, a Star Wars marathon will air in Collision’s normal 8-10 p.m. Eastern slot on August 3.
When WWE PLEs are competing against Collision, ratings usually suffer. This was the case when Money in the Bank was on earlier this month.
