AJ Styles vs Naomichi Marufuji fought on Saturday.
The WWE star and NOAH’s greatest wrestlers fought in the co-main match of Pro Wrestling Noah’s Destination on Saturday at Budokan Hall. Marufuji was able to escape the Styles Clash only once in the match’s finish. Styles won the match.
Styles appeared last month in a video during a NOAH event held in Yokohama, to announce his participation in the show. Styles was a regular in Japan with New Japan Pro Wrestling prior to signing with WWE in 2016. He won the IWGP Heavyweight Title on two occasions.
Styles has fought for the WWE Championship two times since returning to the WWE after a hiatus. In his most recent attempt, Styles lost to Cody Rhodes during an I Quit Match at Clash at the Castle in last month.
During Noah Destination, it was also announced that Josh Briggs, Tavion Height, and other WWE stars will be competing in this year’s N1 Victory Tournament.
