Eddie Kingston undergoes knee surgery in todays Wrestling news

Eddie Kingston underwent knee surgery nearly two months after tearing both his ACL and the meniscus.

Kingston posted a photo on Instagram on Tuesday, sharing it with a hospital photo and announcing the completion of his surgery. “Well, it’s over,” he wrote. “So what?”

Kingston was injured at NJPW Resurgence in California in May when he faced Gabe Kidd without ropes in a Last Man Standing match. He suffered a torn lateral collateral ligament, a torn meniscus and a broken leg. Kingston had to wait until his fractured leg healed before he could undergo knee surgery. PWInsider reported first in May that Kingston’s surgery was scheduled for July 8.

The injury occurred at the end Kingston vs. Kidd, when Kingston’s knee hit the guardrail as he was suplexed by a table. Kidd won this match and became the new NJPW Strong Openweight champion.

Kingston was injured but he still participated in an angle where he was faced by Jack Perry and laid by The Young Bucks. Kingston’s injury prevented him from competing in the Elite vs. Team AEW anarchy in the Arena Match at Double or Nothing. The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada and Perry defeated FTR’s Bryan Danielson and Darin Allin in this match.

Kingston is expected to be out of the action for a period of 10 months. His return date would be May 2025.
