WWE has announced Joe Tessitore’s hiring and confirmed he will be joining Corey Graves & Wade Barrett as part of a commentating team starting this summer.
Tessitore said that he is a “lifelong WWE viewer”.

WWE announces a new voice to its broadcast team.
The New York Post reported Tuesday that Joe Tessitore was hired by the WWE commentary team. Tessitore is a well-known broadcaster who has worked for ESPN and ABC. Tessitore, who is a college football and boxing announcer for ESPN and ABC will remain with them. He was also an announcer of Monday Night Football.
Tessitore is expected to start with WWE in the summer.
According to the report, it’s not known if Tessitore is going to be on Raw or SmackDown but he will lead a three-man announcer booth with Corey Graves & Wade Barrett. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee are staying together as the second commentary team. Currently, Graves & Barrett work on SmackDown and Cole & McAfee work on Raw.
Graves, who had previously been a color commentary, became the main play-by-play announcer on SmackDown when Kevin Patrick was let go by WWE earlier this year.
Nick Khan has led WWE to tap into the traditional sports industry for broadcasting talent. Tessitore, like Adnan Virk who briefly worked as a WWE commentary in 2021, was a client when Khan was Khan’s agent.
The New York Post wrote: “This is a kind of full-circle moment for Tessitore who was the very first client of WWE President Nick Khan, as he was the first journalist to work with him.”
The New York Post also noted that Tessitore, 53, has a good relationship with Paul “Triple H”.
Levesque, in a release following the announcement of Tessitore’s hiring, said that “Joe’s voice gives that big event feeling each time he’s behind the mic.” “We are excited to have Joe join the legendary WWE broadcaster Michael Cole, and our esteemed team of announcers. He will bring his signature energy and meticulous prep to our WWE telecasts every week.”
