Shelton Benjamin: WWE’s decision to not do Hurt Business vs. Bloodline vs. Hurt Business was a major mishap in todays Show_Type news
Shelton Benjamin believes that WWE’s failure to run an angle with The Hurt Business or The Bloodline was one of the biggest wrestling mistakes in history.
Benjamin told Metro that he never received an explanation for why The Hurt Business had been dropped. He also claimed that they were planning to reunite the group last year, but these plans were eventually dropped.
Benjamin said, “I consider The Hurt Business to be one of my most important contributions to the wrestling industry.” “Definitely cut too short – way, far, far too soon. Hurt Business still has so much to offer and do.
“There was definitely planning and conversation for the Hurt Business’s return. “And then everything changed,” he said. “They set dates. The dates changed, and things changed. Then suddenly, it was like “Nope, we are not doing it.” ‘”
“And that… that was a kick to the balls.”
“It’s never been explained why it was stopped,” he said. “I know that the company had high hopes for Bobby (Lashley) and wanted to give him a good position.”
Benjamin continued by saying that WWE missed a potential rivalry between The Hurt Business & The Bloodline.
“I love helping people succeed. “I love being a part of helping people succeed,” he said.
“I think that the fact that there wasn’t a Hurt Business versus Bloodline War is one of the biggest mistakes in pro wrestling.”
The Hurt Business was launched in May 2020. It became a key part of WWE programming for the pandemic period. The group was primarily comprised of MVP Lashley Benjamin and Cedric Alexander for most of its existence.
Benjamin was released by WWE in September last year. Since then, he’s been working a lot international dates. Most recently, he worked in France for APC and England for Progress.
Lashley, out with an injury since May, is currently with The Street Profits, B-Fab, and The Pride. MVP managed Omos but the act hadn’t been used since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal early April. Alexander is now teamed up with Ashante Adonis. Their last match was a SmackDown Dark match in Glasgow, where they beat Pretty Deadly on June 14.
