WWE could soon be releasing more titles.
A social media post from @hashtagPWN over the weekend stated that the plan was to create women’s Intercontinental belts and United States belts as part of the main roster. Fightful Select reported later that the idea had been discussed, but the images that were spread on social media weren’t the actual designs.
“Someone is going to criticize because I don’t remember who reported it first (Editor’s Note: It was @hashtagPWN and then Fightful). I know that it was reported earlier because someone texted me saying, “It’s been reported out there that women’s US titles and Intercontinental titles are being created.” And I asked, and I was basically informed that this is what was being discussed. There you go. Meltzer said, “Two more championships on each brand.”
WWE’s NXT has just introduced a new women’s midcard championship last month. Kelani Jordan won a ladder match with six other women to become the first NXT Women’s North American champion at Battleground. She successfully defended her belt against Sol Ruca yesterday at Heatwave in Toronto.
