During the AEW x NJPW forbidden door on Sunday, AEW announced the date of September’s Grand Slam and also provided presale information.
The show will be broadcast from Arthur Ashe Stadium, Queens, New York on Wednesday, 25th September. As usual, the show will be broadcast live and in a new twist, a two hour Rampage will be taped after the show instead of a Dynamite.
The presale for fans at the UBS Arena in Long Island has already begun and will continue until this Tuesday, midnight. The AEW site officially lists that the pre-sale will begin on July 16th, with a public sale date of July 18.
This will be the fourth such event at the famous tennis stadium, all in September.
The first event was held in 2021, with a featured match between Kenny Omega & Bryan Danielson as well as CM Punk’s very first televised bout since his departure from WWE almost a decade earlier. The event attracted over 20,000 people.
The second show, held in 2022, featured Danielson vs. Jon Moxley vying for the then vacant AEW World title. Nearly 14,000 fans attended.
The Grand Slam of last year attracted 11,000 fans to see MJF defend his then-World Title against Samoa Joe, and Claudio Castagnoli, then-ROH World Champ, defend his title against Eddie Kingston.
