Pat McAfee was absent from Raw last night due to the sudden death of his father in law. He was battling an infection and was expected to be discharged, but things took a tragic twist.

According to reports, Pat McAfee was unable to attend last night’s WWE Raw due a family emergency.
The episode was broadcast from Indianapolis where McAfee resides and broadcasts The Pat McAfee Show, but McAfee didn’t do the commentary. Michael Cole called the rest of Raw alone, while The Miz stepped in for McAfee for a portion of the episode.
PWTorch reports they were told McAfee was unable to attend Raw “due a legitimate family emergency that occurred at the last minute.”
McAfee’s absence led to speculations that the Wyatt Sicks, in storyline were responsible for it. After the group debuted last week on Raw, there were several disruptions on the Pat McAfee show that appeared to have been caused by the Wyatt Sicks.
Cole announced at the beginning of Raw that his usual broadcast colleague Pat McAfee was not present. “I’m going to not read too much into it.”
Last night, a mysterious box arrived at the commentary desk. It turned out to be a VHS with Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy talking about the death Bray Wyatt.
The Miz, who had been filling in as a commentator for the last few nights, wrestled in the main event. Miz & R Truth lost the World Tag Team title to Finn Balor & JD McConagh of Judgment Day.
McAfee invited Paul “Triple H’ Levesque” as a guest to The Pat McAfee Show on yesterday. They discussed WWE’s new agreement with Indiana Sports Corp, which will bring Royal Rumble in 2025, a future WrestleMania & SummerSlam event to Lucas Oil Stadium.
