The CMLL legend took it upon himself to explain on Facebook why he was constantly adjusting the mask that could be seen during the match. Guerrero explained that he was unaware that he would need to wear a face mask because he had lost his in 2014. A member of AEW staff had to make him a new mask in less than an hour. Guerrero praised and admired the staff member for their hard work.
Okada defeated Guerrero, who had been in a title-eliminator match for the Continental Title. Okada pinned Guerrero after removing his mask and planting him using the Rainmaker.
CMLL stars made frequent appearances on AEW in the weeks leading up to Forbidden Door which takes place in New York on June 30. Hechicero and MJF will square off, while Stephanie Vaquer and Mercedes Mone will compete for the TBS title as well as New Japan Strong.
