Kayla Braxton, the on-air personality of WWE’s SmackDown broadcast from Madison Square Garden New York City next Friday, will be leaving the company.
The popular backstage journalist revealed the news via social media on Saturday. She praised WWE and many people, including Michael Cole, Paul Heyman and Paul Levesque as well as Nick Khan, in her comments regarding why she was leaving.
Braxton (Kayla) has already lined up her next role, but she did not reveal it. She said that moving to Los Angeles would give her “new opportunities” which would allow her to use the skills she gained while working for the world’s largest sports entertainment company.
The 33-year old signed with WWE in 2016 and began as a ring announcer, then moved to NXT where she became an on-screen personality. She eventually moved into a role of a backstage host. She was promoted to the main WWE roster in August 2019. She also added co-hosting duties on The Bump, and other WWE shows.
