On Friday’s WWE SmackDown the CM Punk and Drew McIntyre rivalry continued, with McIntyre laying a bloodied Punk out.
Punk opened Friday’s SmackDown at the Allstate Arena in Illinois by delivering a promo which focused on McIntyre. Paul Heyman interrupted Punk, and the two hugged each other in the ring. Heyman warned Punk that The Bloodline would attack if he didn’t leave the arena with Heyman. The Bloodline threatened Punk but Cody Rhodes saved him.
McIntyre carried Punk up to the stage and then ripped a bracelet that had the names of Punk’s wife AJ, and dog Larry on it before leaving.
Punk was carried to an ambulance and the commentary team said that he will spend the night at the hospital. They also advised that fans should keep up with WWE’s social media channels to get updates.
McIntyre will also be appearing on Monday’s Raw. This comes one week after a storyline in which McIntyre quit WWE.
The stretcher issue is still alive because Punk’s medical clearance to return to the field has not been given. Punk is still rehabbing his injury.
