Jerry 'The King’ Lawler updates on knee replacement recovery in todays Wrestling news

Jerry “The King Lawler” continues to make progress in his health battle.

Lawler suffered from a massive stroke in February 2023 that continues to affect the way he speaks. The 74-year old wrestling legend underwent knee replacement surgery in the past year. Lawler spoke with Going Ringside in Florida at the River City Wrestling Con to give an update on his health now that he is back on tour doing convention appearances.

“I’m attending a lot conventions.” “I’m hobbling around at the moment,” he said. “I had a right knee replacement. It’s doing well, but there’s some hobbling.

After surgery, Lawler has found it difficult to live alone. However, he says that things are improving.

Lawler replied, “Well, it seems that I am doing quite well.” “People just see you like this. At home, I’m all alone, and things are a bit tough. But it seems to be getting better.”

In May, WWE announced that they would not renew Lawler’s contract to broadcast when it expired in 2024. Lawler confirmed that he is still under a Legends contract with WWE.

Lawler said that now that his knee replacement has been completed, he is traveling more and doing something every weekend.

Jim Ross said last month that Lawler and he have not called their last match. Ross believes that reuniting the commentary team, whether on television or at a special appearance, is a good idea.
