Wes Lee will be the next opponent for Oba Femi in the WWE NXT North American Championship.
Femi agreed to a future WWE NXT title match during Tuesday’s episode. However, no date for the bout has been set yet.
Femi successfully defended the title at Battleground earlier in the month against Lee and Joe Coffey, but Coffey ate his pin. In an in-ring promotional segment with Femi, Lee announced his intention to compete for the title. Femi agreed, but with one caveat: Should Lee lose the match, he would never challenge again for the North American championship as long as Femi held it.
Lee holds the record for the longest title reign of any North American Champion in history, with 269 days. WWE recognizes that only Carmelo Hayes, with 272, has more days as North American champion. However, Hayes’ record was set over two different reigns.
