Je’Von Evans will be at Heatwave.
Evans won the 25 man battle royal that opened NXT on Tuesday. Evans, Dragon Lee Shawn Spears and TNA star Frankie Kazarian were the final four participants. Spears was the last to be eliminated after Kazarian and Lee had been eliminated. Spears ate a kick from Evans. He will now face Trick Williams on July 7, in Toronto, for the NXT championship.
Ethan Page complained about the outcome of the battle royal to Ava behind-the-scenes. Oro Mensah, who entered the ring to fight with Page at the back, never eliminated him. Page and Evans wrestled in the main contest, with Page coming out on top.
Williams, who was commentating during the match, entered into the ring. The two began to fight until Spears entered the arena and attacked Williams. Evans jumped off the top rope, and the four of them ended up on the floor with the NXT championship in the middle.
Evans, who made his NXT debut earlier this year, had been on a winning spree until Shawn Spears pinned him last week. Evans and Williams had recently teamed up to defeat Gallus.
