Drew McIntyre “quit” WWE according to an angle.
The former WWE Champion “walked” out of the company during Monday’s Raw. He then deactivated his social media accounts.
McIntyre, who lost the World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk in a match at the Clash at the Castle event on Saturday in Scotland, appeared on Monday’s Raw and cut a promotional video.
McIntyre mentioned Punk briefly, which elicited an immediate reaction from the audience. McIntyre said, “I can’t do it anymore.” Screw this company. “I quit”, he said before walking out of ring. McIntyre was able to push past Adam Pearce, a figure of authority who tried to stop him from leaving.
The angle continued after a brief exchange of words between McIntyre, WWE’s chief content officer Paul Levesque (aka Triple H), and McIntyre.
Michael Cole, on Raw commentary, pointed out that McIntyre had deactivated all of his social media accounts.
CM Punk will appear on Friday’s SmackDown in Chicago to continue the months-long feud he has had with McIntyre. Punk tore both triceps in the January 2024 Royal Rumble while wrestling McIntyre. Then, Punk cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania by laying McIntyre down, allowing Damian Priest cash in his Money in the Bank Contract.
